The screenshots illustrate the installation process and the result for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. The installer was tested on multiple new installations of Microsoft Windows 8 (8.0) RTM in different editions and languages in a virtual machine.

Unlike typical WSUS Offline Update installers, 'optional' updates from Windows Update have been integrated as well to make this installer complete. These updates were downloaded manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog. The missing KB's have been downloaded and added to the files 'StaticUpdateIds-w62-x86.txt' and 'StaticUpdateIds-w62-x64.txt' for installation.

The Microsoft Windows 8 (8.0) End-Of-Life date was January 12, 2016. This installer was created in November 2020 to ensure no further updates would be released later so this installer would become obsolete.

The two remaining updates at the Windows Update screenshots are actually installed though they aren't registered as installed by Windows Update.

If you want to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 offline then go to '[Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5]' in the root of the disk for instructions. You will need your Microsoft Windows 8 installation disk to succeed.

The log files from the update process, which are showing that all went like expected, are also available. The tests were performed on the US English versions of Microsoft Windows 8 (8.0) Pro RTM 32-bit and 64-bit versions with all 'Windows Features' turned on including Windows Media Center. The names of the respective disk images are 'en_windows_8_x86_dvd_915417.iso' and 'en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso'.

Note: The disk images were originally intended for easy mounting in emulators for future purposes. However they are also fully functional on original hardware. If the image sizes are too large for disk burning, the content can be manually extracted to an empty USB flash drive instead. You can also use a nonempty USB flash drive. Then you have to extract the files into a separate folder in the root of the USB flash drive. '[DRIVE]:\WOU\' is recommended. Then run the program through '[DRIVE]:\WOU\UpdateInstaller.exe'. The disk images cannot be split into multiple disks because of limitations in how the software works - and downsizing the disk images will cause the update catalog to be incomplete.

Please choose the right disk image for download and installation:
For 32-bit version of Windows 8 (8.0): 'wsusoffline-w62.iso'

For 64-bit version of Windows 8 (8.0): 'wsusoffline-w62-x64.iso'

Release notes:
• 2020-11-05: This is the first version of the update rollup.

• 2020-11-21: The offline installation support for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 has been integrated into the disk images. Before you had to download a separate disk image for that too. No new Windows updates have been added to the disk images.
• 2021-06-01: Microsoft Silverlight has been updated to the most recent build. All compatible versions of Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries will be installed automatically (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015-2019). The language pack for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 on non-English systems didn't always install properly after the installation of the main program. This has been fixed with minor changes in the code of WSUS Offline Update. The activation process of the 'Windows Features' offline support for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has been remade into a script instead. Unnecessary files and duplicates have been removed from the disk images. The maximum amount of updates being installed before a reboot is required has been decreased from all to 50 for better compatibility with systems with limited RAM. The necessary code were backported from the newer WSUS Offline Update 10.6 version. Finally the user interface of the installer has been localized into Danish as well.
• 2021-06-03: Fixed a bug where, in some circumstances, the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 runtime libraries would fail.
